adoration-thanksgiving“If His justice finds victims who consecrate themselves to reparation…. Is it not right, then that His Eucharistic Love should be glorified by unremitting thanksgiving?” Mother Marie Claire

Deo Gratias per Jesum in Sanctissimum Sacramentum!

Mother Marie Claire chose thanksgiving as our special end, having been deeply moved by the Gospel story of the ten lepers who were healed, and only one leper returning to give thanks to Our Lord.  This inspired our Foundress with the desire to console Jesus Whose Eucharistic Presence among us is so often met with ingratitude, neglect and offenses.

And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. Jesus said in reply, “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” Then he said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.” Luke 17:15-19

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord!”

Gratitude to God is supreme among all the virtues and is the fruit of trust in Divine Providence.  Thankfulness to God is also sweet to the soul — it brings us joy. Thanksgiving has always been the natural flavor of the Franciscan life; it is a necessary expression of authentic love. Since the founding of the PCPA Order, the nuns have chanted Our Lady’s Magnificat at the turn of each adoration hour in order to join in her praise and gratitude to the Father.

In all things give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.  1 Thessalonians 5:18

Thank you for visiting us -- the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration of Our Lady of Angels Monastery located in Hanceville, Alabama. We are a monastic community whose charism is adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament in a spirit of thanksgiving. We pray for all but in a special way for priests and missions.

Te Deum Laudamus!
