The Holy Name of Mary

marymmToday, September 12th, is the Feast Day of The Most Holy Name of Mary. Ave Maria!

St Methodius says, "thy name, O Mother of God, is filled with divine graces and blessings..." .  So much so, that St. Bonaventure adds, "that thy name, O Mary, cannot be pronounced without bringing some grace to him who does so devoutly."

Jesus prays for us

Little-King-Of-LovePope Francis today clarifies an often forgotten reality -- that Jesus prays for us.

“It seems a little strange,” the Pope said, “that He who came to give us salvation, who has the power, prays to the Father... Jesus is the great intercessor. He stands before the Father in this moment, praying for us...

The story of El Divino Nino and Mother Angelica

nino

One day he told El Divino Niño that these people were hungry and there was no one to feed them. 'If you don't feed them, they will kill me and smash you into tiny pieces.' This is strange type of prayer. Soon carts appeared with food. This went on. Suddenly people came that were not well. 'Divino Niño these people are poor and can't afford a physician. Divino Niño if you don't heal them they will kill me and smash you.' Between getting food for the people and healing them, he went to the Church to get money to build a church. Instead, the people gave to build the Church.

Father asked me if I would like to see the original statue that the priest had made. We had to walk up a small hill and at that time I was still in crutches. The statue was facing away from where I was standing. So, I just looked up as everyone else was doing. Suddenly El Divino Niño turned towards me and said, 'Build me a temple and I will help those who help you.' "

Saint Rose of Viterbo

MurilloRoseShe was now 15 years old and anxious to enter the convent of the Poor Clares. As she had no dowry, she could not be admitted.

"Well," said Rose, "you will not receive me while I am alive, but you will receive me after I am dead." She and several companions repaired to a secluded dwelling, where they intended to live as a community. The ecclesiastical authorities, however, did not approve of the plan, and Rose returned home. She died 2 years later, filled with the joyous desire of being united with her God.

Two and a half years after her death she appeared three times to Pope Alexander IV, who was in Viterbo at the time, and told him to have her body removed to the convent of the Poor Clares.
